About Us

About

The Students Scholarship and Awards are the independent awards given to students of the HR profession in Washington. The awards were established in 2002. Now they have an excellent service and a clear vision of the leadership, innovation, communication, and ethical behavior.

Vision

To upgrade human resource in Washington.

Mission

To be the leading organization for honoring HR professionals and leaders who are perfect examples of leadership and commitment to the development of the HR function.

History

The Students Scholarship and Awards were discussed between Bill F. Hays and David K. Rembert. Committed to HR excellence, David K. Rembert founded the HRLA and then passed leadership to its successor, President Carl C. Sizemore. Bill F. Hays and Carl C. Sizemore co-chaired the first The Students Scholarship and Awards in May 2002. They were supported by corporate sponsors, among them Dr. J.P. Gray and Mr. Thompson.

Today

May 2012 marks the celebration of the 10th HR Students Awards. The program is growing through the efforts of Strayer University, volunteers, sponsors, and partners.
