The Human Resource Leadership Awards (HRLA) were an outgrowth of discussions between C. Michael Ferraro (President & CEO of TRAINING SOLUTIONS, Inc.) and Sister Eymard Gallagher, RSHM (President of Marymount University, 1993-2001). Committed to recognizing HR excellence, Sister Eymard put things in motion for the founding of HRLA and then passed leadership of the program to her successor, President James Bundschuh. Ferraro and Bundschuh co-chaired the first annual Human Resource Leadership Awards in June 2002.

HRLA is as such, a program of Marymount University and considered a 501 (c) 3 organization.

It is fitting to be well aligned with Marymount as they offer a strong Master of Arts in Human Resource Management. HRLA also offers up to three scholarships per year for professionals seeking an HRM degree from an institution, Marymount or otherwise, in the Greater Washington area.

Marymount’s HRM Department also offers an HR Speaker Series, open to the public and free of charge. For more information on the upcoming events in the Series click here.

HRLA participates on Marymount’s HR Advisory Board and supports all HR efforts to market the HRM program and provide the Marymount community with more scholarly learning opportunities related to the HR industry.
